Students have been learning a lot about apples this week. They are having so much fun being scientists! They also learned about Habit 5: Seek first to understand, Then to be understood. You should ask them about what it means.:)
IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Students continue working on writing the sounds they hear and stretching out words. Please continue practicing letters and sounds of the alphabet at home. Practicing this at home will help build confidence in your child. Reminder: Please check your child’s B.E.E. folder each day. Below is an overview of what we will be learning in class next week.
THEME/SCIENCE- Apples
WORD WORK- Recognition of letters “B-F”, second round of letters and sounds
WRITING- Handwriting Without Tears, writing how to make applesauce and apple juice using transition words, Adding pictures and words to our writing, Poetry and Predictable book
READING- Daily 5 Rotations for STAR Time, Identifying the difference between a letter and a word, Word by Word matching, using spaces between words
MATH- Introduce Topic 3, count, read, write and identify numbers 6-10
