★Thank you so much for all your support at home! ★Here are some Wonderful Conversation Questions for your child at home: "Questions to ask your child when they get home" Tell me what the word persevere means? Tell me about what it means to work first then play. Tell me what sound do you hear at the beginning of these words... What letter spells that sound? Tell me how you were kind to a friend today. Tell me how you were respectful in your class or lunchroom today? ★This week was a blast from the past and really showed our school spirit! The parade was truly the cultivating event of the week. Everyone did a great job of making safe choices and had so much fun!! We cannot wait to continue our learning and experiences with Apples next week. ★Students brought home a parent letter last week that are the current results of what capital and lowercase letters, and sounds your student knows. We are continuing to work on these in class and will soon begin small groups that focus on where your student is in their learning. While you are really excited for your child to begin reading, taking time to build a SOLID phonemic and phonological awareness is key to reading success. ★Students are successfully navigating their independent reading rotations. You will notice they will begin to bring home more papers and activities they work on during class. While it can be tricky to decipher what they wrote and drew, asking questions such as "can you tell me about this?" instead of stating what you think it looks like can be very rewarding and encouraging for your young learner. |
