The next two weeks, we will be learning about Butterflies and we will start Topic 14 in math. This topic is about describing and comparing measurable attributes. Don’t forget to check your ABC Countdown to the End of Kindergarten each night to see what we are doing in class the next day. Please continue reading and writing with your child at home. Some students have not completed homework for the past two weeks. It is very important to continue reading with your child each day. Thank you for working with your child to help them feel more confident! Reminder: Check your child’s B.E.E. folder each day. This is a great way for us to communicate. Below is an overview of what we will be learning in class.
THEME- Butterflies
WORD WORK- Ch digraphs, Rainy Day Digraphs, RFK2 Assessment (rhyming words, syllables, Changing BME sounds to make new words) We are no longer doing spelling tests, only reviewing and studying the popcorn words
WRITING- Writing facts about butterflies, describing butterflies, writing the stages of the life cycle of a butterfly using transition words, and observing the changes of the life cycle of butterflies for journal entries
READING- Review Daily 5/STAR Strategies
MATH- Topic 14 (describing and comparing measurable attributes)
