Next week, we will continue learning about how to identify patterns within a 100 chart. This unit can be difficult if your child cannot count to 100 or recognize the patterns within a one hundred chart. Thank you for working with your child at home to help them feel more confident and successful! Please encourage your child to read and practice writing a sentence or two each day. Reminder: Check your child’s B.E.E. folder each day. This is a great way for us to communicate. Below is an overview of what we will be learning in class.
THEME- Spring
WORD WORK- Onsets and Rimes, Word Families, Spelling patterns, word meaning
We are no longer doing spelling tests, only studying the popcorn words (this, that, they, the)
WRITING- Spring Acrostic Poem, Leo the Late Bloomer (beg, middle, end) students will explain how they have bloomed this year
READING- Review Retelling and Retell Goldie Locks and the Three Bears, Review Daily 5/STAR Strategies (eagle eye, lips the fish, stretchy snake, etc)
MATH- Continue Topic 11 (counting and finding patterns in 100)
